 The Practice and Midwives

Having a child is a time of excitement and personal growth, but can be challenging at times. Together through education, informed choices, and hands on support, your journey towards parenthood is put back in your hands so you are able to have the best birth for you and your baby.

We
are honored to bear witness to each person bringing forth new life earth side, observe their strength and courage, and see them grow their family in an empowering environment where they feels most safe, home.
What sets Dreaming Tree apart from the rest is that we support families throughout the full fourth trimester providing care and support as you navigate the first 12 weeks with your new addition. We aim
to decrease the incidence and severity of those experiencing a Perinatal Mood Disorder with this extended care provided.

We approach Midwifery care from a team based model in order to serve families from a place of balance and full cups so that when we are present with you, we are able to be fully present...mind, body, and spirit. What that breaks down to, is seeing both Midwives throughout your care on a scheduled and rotating basis and having a call schedule. If families can love one Midwife, they can love two...and these two Midwives share not only a stong love for one another, but for all those who come to care with the Practice.

The childbearing year and beyond has always held a special place in my heart from a young age. I was called to enter the profession of midwifery at 19 after the birth of my son. Somehow, someway I learned about water birth, doulas, breastfeeding, and everything in between and knew it was going to be apart of my future. Fast forward 13 years , two more children, and a full career in nursing I made my way back to midwifery and began my education and training towards becoming a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM).
I am a CPM through The North American Registry of Midwives having earned my certification and Bridge Certificate in January of 2019. I am certified as a Healthcare Provider BLS/ CPR, Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, Neonatal Resuscitation, Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics as well as an Instructor for the course, STABLE, and became a Certified Breastfeeding Educator in 2016.  I attend conferences frequently throughout the year as a passionate, lifelong learner. I have been a nurse in three area hospital systems in Labor and Delivery which translates to strong community partnerships and relationships with many providers throughout the city. Additionally, my time as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner in two area hospitals has resulted in trauma informed care as a care provider.
When I'm not working, learning, and being a mom of 3,  I enjoy knitting, reading, getting lost on Pinterest, getting out in nature, traveling,  and watching Netflix and Amazon Prime. I am the kind of person that will laugh with you, cry with you, and call ya out from a place of love always, to do better, be better, and to keep on keeping on! I truly see beauty in the everyday experiences and in each person and family I have the honor of supporting.
I am interested in creating human connections with folks as a Midwife over professional ones.  Can't wait to meet you!
