I’ve been fascinated with birth from as early as I can remember. When my husband and I were planning to start a family I began researching my birth options and started falling in love with the idea of becoming a doula and providing other families the type of care, support and education I would hope to receive for the births of my own children. I began my doula journey in the fall of 2012 right around the time that we had started planning to get pregnant with our first baby. After experiencing a non-medicated, natural birth at New Birth Company, I was overjoyed by the support provided to my husband and I by our doula, and since, have become passionate about aiding women in having empowered and positive birth experiences. I knew in my heart that I had made the right decision to pursue this calling! I then went on to have a blissful home water birth with my second son in the spring of 2016 as well as our third son in the winter of 2017. As both a doula and birth assistant, I offer unconditional, invaluable support to birthing women and their families. I began attending births in 2012 and completed CAPPA training in June of 2014. Additionally, I was professionally trained and am OSHA Certified in placenta encapsulation and remedies, which I really enjoy preparing for my clients for their postpartum period. I have a passion for working with herbs, oils and homeopathics and I make my own tea blends and lactation cookies for expectant and new mothers. I am also currently studying to become a Certified Professional Midwife in the future. I am devoted to continually learning and gaining knowledge about pregnancy, birth, and breastfeeding and dedicated to providing a professional, calming, and grounding presence to the birthing room inspired by a holistic blend of comfort measures and techniques. I have worked with women who have chosen techniques such as Water Birth, Bradley and Hypnobirthing. I respect and support every woman’s choice, whether it is natural childbirth or using pain medication. I view every birth as unique and sacred and feel privileged to witness the strength that is in every birthing woman. I consider it an honor to embark upon this transformative journey with the families I serve.
